This is a great family movie with messages of hope, self-importance and love and is essential to Christmas as a Christmas tree.
2. Home Alone
It’s no surprise this little wonder of a movie always seems to be every popular TV station around Christmas time. Mixed with hilarity as well the message of the importance of family, this tale is a about a little boy in a big family who is forgotten at home at Christmas whilst the rest of his family takes off to Europe. Kevin, the little boy, is at first ecstatic at the fact that his family, whom he is very angry at, has left him all alone. However, when he has to defend his house against two unrelenting robbers, he comes to the realization of how much his family really means to him. This film appeals to anyone and everyone and will leave you on the floor laughing every time.
3. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
For a less serious, more comedic Christmas movie look no further than this top flick. This classic comedy follows the family we all know and love, the Griswold family as they celebrate Christmas with their insane relatives. Out of all the National Lampoon movies, this one is by far the best and a great way to laugh of all those calories after a delicious Christmas feast.
4. The Muppet Christmas Carol
Don’t be fooled – this is not only a movie for kids! The Muppets meet Charles Dickens in this classic tale. Filled with great cameo appearances like Michael Caine and Gonzo is cute re-telling of a well known Christmas tale effortlessly mixes humans and Muppets and is as outrageous and amusing as ever.
5. Love Actually
A relatively new Christmas film, Love Actually follows the lives, loves and mishaps of several interesting, sexy and hilarious characters in 8 different storylines which all come to a head on Christmas day. This film will make you laugh and cry at the same time but leave you asking for more at the end. Don’t miss the school recital scene in which this amazing little girl belts out ‘All I want for Christmas is you’!
